Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("user", "player", "you") and Maplethrive ("we", "us", "our") covering your access to and use of the website located at Maplethrive.com (the "Platform") and all related free social games, content and features. By using the Platform you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms.

1. Nature of the Platform — Not Gambling

Maplethrive is a free social gaming platform. We provide casino-style games for entertainment only. No real money is staked, won, lost, deposited or withdrawn at any point. This Platform is not gambling under Canadian law, the Criminal Code of Canada (Sections 201–207), or any provincial gaming legislation, because the three essential elements of gambling — consideration, chance and prize — are not all present. There is no consideration (the Platform is free), and there is no prize of monetary value (only virtual coins).

• Virtual coins are awarded for free and cannot be purchased.
• Virtual coins cannot be redeemed for money, goods, services, gift cards, cryptocurrency or anything of real-world value.
• Virtual coins have no cash value and may be reset, removed or modified by us at any time.
• Outcomes are determined by software pseudo-random number generation strictly for game mechanics, not for any wager.

2. Age Requirement

The Platform is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 years or older. By accessing the Platform you represent and warrant that you are at least 18. If you are under 18, you must leave the Platform immediately. We use an age-gate prompt on first visit; falsifying your age violates these Terms.

3. Account and Local Storage

Maplethrive does not require account registration. Your in-game state — virtual coin balance, win/loss counters, streaks, age confirmation and cookie preference — is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. We do not maintain this information on our servers and we cannot recover it if you clear your browser data or change devices.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Platform only for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You will not:

• Use the Platform if you are under 18 years of age;
• Attempt to derive real-money value from any virtual coins, scores or content;
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, decompile or otherwise tamper with the Platform's software;
• Use any automated tool, bot, scraper or script to interact with the games;
• Bypass the age gate, security mechanisms or rate limits;
• Use the Platform from a jurisdiction where casino-style social games are restricted by local law;
• Use the Platform in any way that violates Canadian federal, provincial, or municipal law.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — the design, code, text, graphics, animations, game logic, brand name and logo — is owned by Maplethrive or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Platform for its intended entertainment purpose. You may not copy, distribute, modify or create derivative works without our written permission.

6. No Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, Maplethrive, its directors, officers, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform. Because the Platform is free and involves only virtual coins, no monetary damages can arise from gameplay outcomes.

8. Responsible Gaming

Although Maplethrive involves no real money, casino-style game mechanics can become absorbing. If you feel your gaming habits — even with free virtual coins — are affecting your time, mood, sleep or relationships, please take a break and seek support. 9. Changes to the Platform and Terms

Updated Terms become effective when posted on this page; continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the latest revision was published.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Platform at our sole discretion, with or without cause and with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or use the Platform in a manner we believe to be harmful.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved in the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
